Life itself is designed to be disturbing and complex. The pain never leaves until death arrives. I see death as a saviour. Like me, did you ever think about the inherent meaning of life?

  • What is the purpose of life?
  • What meaning does it have?
  • What is the end goal?

Then I am happy that I am not alone with such thoughts. This type of thought has a name in philosophy: nihilism.

What Is Nihilism?

It is the philosophical belief that life has no inherent meaning or purpose. 1/1000 people feel this thought in their entire life. They start to feel like their life is cursed, rather than moving on with material and comfortable things offered by the world.

To explain it simply, imagine you buy a board game, but after opening the box, there is no rulebook, scoreboard, or finish line. This is the simple way to define what a life is.

The universe didn’t give us a script, manual or guide about life. We are just a tiny dot inside a spinning rock in a massive universe without an end. The one correction that will apply here is we didn’t ask for the life; it was given to us for free as a result of two individuals pleasure-seeking, then life forced us into disturbing moments without our permission.

Why Nihilism Matters.

Nihilism is not just another passive, disturbing thought. But it’s an open door to the reality we experience today. While many people cover their real tragedies and disturbing thoughts with pleasures offered by the modern world, nihilism forces us to see the reality and ignore the covering created by authorities and billionaires.

When many individuals hear about such a philosophical thought, they often label the persons who believe it as lazy or irresponsible towards life. But it is not. Nihilism is much more than a state of boredom, meaninglessness, laziness, or hate. Let’s look at why.

It validates our exhaustion.

We live in a disturbing and truly imperfect world. Nothing is right. Everything is moving forward in an unstable manner. Everywhere violence, hate, fake, consuming humans for money and power, manipulation, etc. On the other side society actively says to each other, “We have to be productive, build streaks, optimise our time, and leave a legacy.” This is really an exhausting amount of weight to carry.

This is where nihilism stands with more priority. Nihilism forces us to question all those requirements, needs, and things society pushes us into. It gives you permission to put that weight down. The more we dig, the more we start to understand that the real problem is not what we believed to be the problem, but it is the path we followed along with others, even without a second thought.

Breaks the perfect streak illusion.

Most of the feelings we have each day have nothing to do with our life, existence, or even the universe. These overwhelming amounts of emotions like overthinking, trauma, fear, depression, etc., are just products of things that have no meaning, but still, we always hold onto them in our lives. Like job-related stress, childhood experiences that are already over, thinking about someone else, getting distracted by social media, etc.

For example, when I felt so overwhelmed by past disturbing thoughts or events, I skipped my blog writing habit for one day, and it ended up turning into a 3-day skip. This then caused me guilt about what I did. Why did I drop my useful habits just for some useless, already-over random thoughts? This happened because the illusion or mind created fake importance by overwriting my knowledge and understanding about nihilism, which is a result of actively participating in a sick society.

But on the other hand, a good knowledge of nihilism will neutralise the effects of such conditions in our life and mind.

Nihilism shifts the power back to us.

This is the main and most important benefit of nihilism. It gives the power over our own life back to us, a power that we never really owned at all. It matters because once you realise society’s rules and expectations don’t matter at all, you get the freedom in your life to choose what to do, how to do it, etc. Because in the end, nothing matters at all. Death is the end of everything. But we never know how it will reach us, when it will arrive, how painful it will be, etc. So why bother at all? Just live as you want.

The Unspoken Reality.

Forgetting death exists.

The truth is that most of the population has actually failed to find meaning in life. No goal, no tasks, no rules, etc. But for the authority and conquerors, this was not acceptable at all. So they built a structure, a structure that made the entire society follow it without questions at all.

Born -> study -> work -> have children -> raise them to fit into societal expectations -> die.

This is the pattern everyone lives today. No questioning, no different opinions at all.

On the other side, many individuals are in a rush towards money, having more property, valuable materials, etc. They need respect and acceptance from the entire society. They need comfort and no disappointments. But life was never designed to be like that. Life is all about suffering and unexpected events. We don’t even know where death is hiding, waiting for a perfect time to hunt us.

So the one and only thing we can morally understand from this is that modern life is specifically curated to challenge death. They are truly forgetting the whole point of life. It’s like building a massive fortress on sand.

The control and manipulation.

The education trap

We were forced to go to school from our childhood, from a very young age. This is actually praised and promoted by almost everyone because they want it to be believed like this. But the reality is much darker.

The authority made parents so busy that even just for a normal life and to pay taxes, everyone in a family must go to a job. Otherwise, they will be forced to live a poor life, and these individuals have to look for a treat or donation from the rich ones and governments just to push their life to the end. Because of this, parents automatically became so busy that they had no time for managing their own kids. So they send their children to kindergarten and schools.

Then eventually, this will only end in 10-12+ years. Probably in a degree or post-graduation. In those 12+ years, all we studied was useless at its best. It’s one hundred per cent guaranteed that 90% of the things we learn from schools or colleges never apply in real life. The only thing guaranteed is humiliation, harassment, and traumatic events from other students with a criminal mentality, and almost nobody cares at all.

It’s just like putting hundreds of chickens inside a small cage, causing the death of at least 10 of them, and the owner or customer doesn’t care.

After graduating, most will wander the world without a good job. Then society will blame them for not studying well. But what about their 12+ wasted years, getting forced to study when their actual talents were hidden in other areas? Nobody cares!

The faked reality

Social media promised to keep us social and connected whenever we want. But nowadays it is not only about connection but more about business and content addiction. More precisely known as consumerism.

We put our heads 24/7 into any social media platform. To harvest the entire 24 hours a day, even without prioritising sleep, many just fell into the hardcore use of social media. Can you count the actual number of social media in 2026? It’s not 5 or 6; it’s about 1000+ for various or the same reason, in a competitive mentality. Most people are just dumb enough to spend all their time on this without even prioritising the health, money, habits, mental health, etc.

Social media came into the world just for faking reality and connection. People are now distracted 24/7 with someone else’s life, meaningless and useless content consumption, endless scrolling, unreal goals or tasks, etc. Millions are wasting their lives and time just for making some wealthy companies wealthier.

If there are 10 reasons to use social media, then there are 1000+ reasons to delete it from your life. These tools are just energy vampires made by billionaires to consume the poor.

The Rise of the Religious Trap

Everybody knows, life is all about suffering. Religion came into the business field by promising to solve all these issues and promote spirituality.

They create the problem, then they claim to solve the issue. Even if the money is paid by the believer, who actively participates in holy mass and donates to the church. But still, if something goes wrong with the ritual, like the affected one never being cured, the mentally ill one still feels disturbed, etc. The stupid priests still blame the believer for it. Just say they don’t have enough belief in the god, they didn’t pray well, etc.

Religions have efficiently created imaginary things like demons (which probably just describes the disturbing side of life) and saviours (the good things happen). because a disturbing event probably already lowered the dopamine level; even a tiny good thing can increase the dopamine level, and it is considered as good). This is just like some animation studios releasing toys of popular cartoons for promotion.

This religious business has too much scope and good earnings nowadays. So many are actively trying to become a priest or an important person related to any church from the 1000s so they can hold their influence in society’s decision-making. Society will praise them for how they are taught to praise God. And it will never collapse until life frees us from suffering, which is equal to death.

Fun Fact: God creates humans, then gifts a lot of suffering. At the same time God saves and heals everyone as the instructions are received from the priest, then the priests collect the money from the believers for the living with basic needs like a luxurious car, a big house with all furniture, jewels, etc. Btw, the believer is still suffering behind the scenes. After getting the money from them, who cares if the issue is actually solved or not? Because primarily, there were no issues at all. right?

The Black Sheep.

A black sheep’ is an idiom. It points to a member of a group or a family who is different, who doesn’t fit in, and who is often considered a troublemaker or an outsider. The phrase is perfect for someone who questions the entire existence and life.

Dear Nihilists, We are the black sheep of the real world. We often think deeply about such things existing in life. And we try to question or prove their importance. For 90% of the population, this is annoying, and it will hurt their years of beliefs and egos, so eventually, they will mark us as weird or mental. They isolate or ignore us. But still, we never hesitate to change, as it is not just a stupid belief like they have. It is the reality.

I am proud to say that I am a black sheep, btw.

Conclusion.

No matter how loudly we speak about the reality of life, no one will listen to us. This has nothing to do with us. We are not wrong or crazy or anything.

It’s all about the strength these illusions gained over decades. The fake reality has managed to successfully inject into millions of minds and conquer people’s trust by faking promises like a permanent escape from suffering. So their mind automatically agrees to have a saviour, even if it is not real.

At the end, they are the actual dumb ones.
